About Me...

Blit & Me - April, 2001. 3D rendering and digital photograph. 3D element created in Animation: Master, compositing and retouching in Adobe Photoshop. Just a fun try at matching CG to a real life image. I can't say I'm thrilled with the way Blit's skin is shaded, but then who's to say this is not exactly what green alien skin looks like when photographed with a flash? I had no actual data to work from for the placement of the camera or the geography of the room; I just eyeballed the whole thing based on where I remember the camera being and how big I estimate Blit to be. Yes, that's a plush moose on my head. A gift from Sofia and Jimmy of the 3D Festival. Sofia took this picture, by the way. In the full res (2048 x 1536) version it is more evident that I've gone through the effort of trying to recreate camera artefacts on Blit such as image noise, aliasing, chromatic aberrations, mach banding, and of course retinal reflection! Thanks to Greg Rostami for some tips on color matching.
